BC's Local Elections Campaign Financing Act requires the following. We have to ask, and you have to qualify.

Contribution Rules

BC residents only. You must be a resident of British Columbia using your own personal funds.
Canadian citizen or permanent resident. No minimum age applies.
No businesses, organizations, or unions. Only individuals can contribute to local BC campaigns.
Annual limit set by Elections BC. If you contribute by credit card, processing fees count toward this limit.
Full legal name and residential address required. This information is required for campaign finance reporting.
Contributions are not tax-deductible. This is a political contribution, not a charitable donation.
